About Us

OUR LOOK Original and provocative designs, drop-dead color and a very refined screen-printing process give our products that unique BINTH look.

OUR PROCESS Our design process is founded on collaboration among ourselves and the creative people with whom we work. From our bookbinder to our printers, we make it a priority to work with family-owned businesses run by traditional craftsmen that share our attention to detail and our high quality standards. We also strongly believe it is essential to be environmentally conscious. That drop-dead color we mentioned earlier? We mix it by hand, using only water-based inks. Our paper stock, with its luxurious feel and palette of soft, contemporary hues is, you guessed it, recycled.

OUR COMPANY To answer the most frequently asked question: Binth is simply a word we invented years ago. As a group, we share an interest in the dynamic relationship between art and design and the reinvention of classic genres for the modern lifestyle. Our backgrounds include fine art, illustration, photography, furniture, graphic design and marketing. In addition to creating our own products, we thrive on creative challenges of any size. As a design house we concept and create imagery and installations for the Herman Miller National Design Centers, illustrate books and design compelling corporate identities for our clients.

As individuals we are Suzanna Bierwirth, Peter Dunham and Linnea Gits.

Suzanna Bierwirth has gained her experience in design and branding by working as a Creative Director for a global marketing agency for the past 10 years. Born and raised in Germany, Suzanna was originally trained as a photographer. Her entrepreneurial spirit and belief in collaboration move the vision of our company forward every day.

Peter Dunham has a background in fine art and furniture design. Peter brings his understanding of production and attention to detail in fabrication as well as his artistic sensibility to all the projects we work on. The saying around the Binth studio is, "It's not done until it's Dunham."

Linnea Gits is an artist. She has shown her drawings and sculpture at galleries in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles. Linnea's unique style and provocative imagery contribute to giving Binth its unexpected and modern look.
